The Community Development Administration is responsible for the municipality's properties, streets, traffic, nature, water and sewage, waste management, and more. We work closely with our citizens' everyday lives, which places high demands on knowledge and service. We are located in newly renovated premises in Mörby Center with good public transport connections.

The Waste Unit belongs to the Water and Waste Department, which is part of the Community Development Administration. Here we work with issues related to waste, reuse, and recycling. Currently, we have three dedicated employees and one manager in the Waste Unit who are passionate about making the planet a little better. At the same time, we have a lot of fun together. A true win-win! Together, we work to achieve the unit's goals, supporting each other in big and small matters and enjoying bouncing ideas off each other. With great ambitions comes a lot to do, and we now want to expand our team with you who want to be responsible for the operation and follow-up of the municipality's waste collection agreements.

Even though the Waste Unit in Danderyd is a small group, you will be part of a large network. You will have contact with other municipalities, primarily within the municipal waste company SÖRAB. Additionally, there are networks, training, and conferences within the industry organization Waste Sweden that you may participate in. Welcome to our community!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operational waste planner, you need to be, yes, just that, proactive! Waste is engaging; it is clear to all of us working in the waste industry, and the municipality has an extremely important task in ensuring that waste collection is carried out satisfactorily for our residents and businesses. In your role as an operational manager, you will have close contact with our waste collection contractors. You know the agreements inside and out and ensure that they are followed.

In the role of operational manager, you will continuously lead operational meetings. Together with the contractor, you will also work on workplace safety issues, which means you may need to be out in the municipality. Most customer inquiries are handled by the municipality's customer service for waste, but sometimes residents want to contact the municipality's waste unit directly; in such cases, you will primarily be the one responding to them and becoming the golden link between the subscriber and the contractor.

The Waste Unit continually strives to have a broad service offering that encourages waste to be handled correctly. In your role, you will have good opportunities to continue developing the operation with new creative thoughts and ideas in the same spirit together with the rest of the Waste Unit. In addition to working with pure operational issues, you will also be involved in our multifaceted waste operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least a high school education.
• Good computer skills with experience in the Office suite.
• Good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Relevant higher education.
• Experience working in the waste sector, preferably within a municipality.
• Previous experience in a role with a lot of customer relations.
• Previous experience in contract follow-up or procurement.
• Driver's license B.

You are outgoing, confident in your role, and quickly build trust with others, making it easy for you to collaborate and create a positive atmosphere. You appreciate varied tasks in your assignment and enjoy taking responsibility, are proactive, and are not afraid to set demands when necessary. As a person, you have a solution-focused approach towards residents, customers, and contractors, and you are not afraid to try new ways to develop the operation. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
